Good News Friday!

Beyond the many services we provide, Imagine! is frequently offering classes, workshops, and other events that may be of value to the people we serve, their families, and the community at large.

For example, Imagine! Behavioral Health Services (IBHS), the Autism Society of Colorado, and the Autism Society of Boulder County have joined forces to offer four free 90-minute workshops on various topics around autism:

Public Insurance 101 will focus on services like Medicaid and Children’s Health Plan Plus (CHP+).

When: February 26, 2014 from 5-7pm  

Private Insurance 101 will explain the benefits available under Health Insurance Mandated Autism Treatment (HIMAT), healthcare reform and the Affordable Care Act.

When: March 5, 2014 from 5-7pm 

Special Education 101 an interactive workshop designed to address: 1) Key federal and state statutes surrounding special education, that will include concepts like Free and Appropriate Education (FAPE), Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), Inclusion and the Individualized Education Program (IEP). 2) Students with twice-exceptional needs 3) Parental rights 4) Dispute Resolution Alternatives and 5) Tips and strategies on ways to successfully work with your child’s school and IEP team

When: March 12, 2014 from 5-7pm 

Engaging in Your Government lays an important foundation to understand the role of the federal and state government in Colorado. Attendees will identify their legislators, learn how to share their story, and identify policy issues that affect them.

When: March 19, 2014 from 5-7pm

IBHS also provides free monthly trainings on “Building Cooperative Behaviors” and “Play: Our Brain’s Favorite Way to Learn.”
